10 Fun & Heartfelt Ways to Celebrate Mom in Cameron, Mo or any where you live!
Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and whether you’re celebrating your own mom, the mother of your children, or a cherished mother figure in your life, we’ve rounded up some creative, meaningful, and fun ways to make her feel extra special. At Emerald Acres, we’re all about creating memories—and while we usually host big moments, we’re big fans of the little ones, too.
Here are some sweet ways to celebrate Mom this year (bonus points if it involves snacks and snuggles):
1. Backyard Brunch Bash
Skip the crowded restaurants and set up a cozy brunch at home or in the backyard. String lights, a fresh bouquet, and maybe a mimosa bar? Yes, please. Let the kids be the waitstaff for extra laughs. Keep it simple with some fun “adult lunchables” also known as charcuterie or grill up a steak and make risotto!
2. DIY Flower Bar
Set up a simple flower bar with mason jars, fresh blooms, and ribbon. Let the whole family build their own bouquet for Mom—because handmade gifts are still the best kind. There are several amazing green houses between Cameron and Jamesport as well as a few flower farms that offer pop up shops.
3. A “Yes Day” for Mom
She’s survived toddler tantrums and teen moods—it’s her turn to call the shots. Pajamas all day? Movie marathon? Ice cream before dinner? Done.
4. Family Photo Refresh
This doesn’t have to be a full-blown session—just grab a phone, a tripod, and head to a pretty spot for some updated family photos. (P.S. If you want to go all out, we do know a dreamy field or two and an awesome photographer)
5. Memory Jar
Have each family member write down their favorite memory with Mom and tuck them into a jar. She can pull one out whenever she needs a little love.
6. Backyard Spa Vibes
Its supposed to be nice out, create a spa day in the back yard, with foot soaks, face masks, and zero interruptions. (Noise-canceling headphones may be necessary if toddlers are involved.)
7. Picnic & Play
Pack up Mom’s favorite snacks and head to a Wallace State Park or even the living room floor. Bonus if you bring card games, a speaker for tunes, or bubbles.
8. Storytime with Grandma
Call or visit Grandma and ask her to tell a story from when she was a mom of littles. Multigenerational bonding = the good stuff. And grandma loves a phone call!
9. Cook Something Together (And Let Her Sit Down)
Let Mom pick the menu—but you do the cooking (and the cleaning). Even better, involve the kids so she can enjoy the chaos without managing it.
10. Recreate a Favorite Memory
Did you go to the zoo every spring? Camp in the living room with popcorn? Surprise her by recreating one of those moments—nostalgia is one powerful gift.
However you celebrate, the best gift you can give is your presence (and maybe a quiet moment alone, let’s be real). From all of us at Emerald Acres, Happy Mother’s Day to every kind, tired, strong, hilarious mom out there. You’re the heart of the family—and we love helping celebrate you, big moments or small.
